Day, week, and month
The Calendar is your meetings over time, as Day, Week, or Month. It opens on Week, and the sidebar's Calendar row stays lit across all three.
An Attendees filter narrows the grid to meetings involving particular people.
Opening a date from anywhere else in Tana, a date mention or an item pinned to a date, opens that day on the Calendar's Day view.
The Calendar has no search of its own and no space scope: a search spans every date, which is the opposite of what a dated view is for. To reach a meeting outside the visible range, use Search or More, Meetings, both of which keep the date and attendee filters.
The Calendar shows your own calendar events and organization-level events synced by other members. See Calendar sync for connecting Google Calendar or Outlook.
A meeting beside the grid
Click a meeting in the grid and its details open beside it.
- A meeting that has not happened yet opens ready to edit: title, time, and attendees.
- A meeting that has wrapped up shows what came of it: the summary artwork, how long it ran, its tagline, the accepted outcomes, the proposals still For Review, and anything pinned to it. Press a proposal row to review it there.
Navigating between dates
The Day, Week, and Month switch sets how much you see at once, and stepping forward or back moves by that much. A control returns you to today whenever you are looking at another date.
With no explicit date, the Calendar tracks the clock: meetings roll from in progress to past as they end, and the date advances across midnight without a reload.
Joining from the grid
A meeting within 10 minutes of its start, and before its end, carries a Join button. Hovering it opens a device-check preview with the camera feed and mic, camera, and settings toggles; clicking joins the call directly.
An external meeting carries the provider's join link instead. See External meetings.
Drafting a meeting
Drag across the grid to sketch a span, then name the draft and confirm it, or discard it. For the full meeting card, with the people picker and the choice between starting now and scheduling, see Creating a meeting.
Asking about what you see
A chat bar on the Calendar takes what you are looking at as its context: the visible range, or the meeting you have open. So "what did we decide?" is scoped to that meeting, and a question about the week is scoped to that week. See AI chat for what you can do in a conversation.
Meeting cards in the grid
Each meeting shows its time, title, and attendees, and either a Join button for Tana calls or the external provider. When someone is already in a call, the card shows who is in it.
- Click opens the meeting.
- Drag an event onto the sidebar to pin it, or into another item to reference it.
- Right-click opens the standard context menu (Pin to space, Pin to date, Copy URL, Open in new tab), plus Open in side panel and Open in new window on the desktop app.
- Cmd+ClickCtrl+Click opens it in a new tab. On desktop, Cmd+Shift+ClickCtrl+Shift+Click opens a new window and Cmd+Option+ClickCtrl+Alt+Click a side panel. This works on most items, not just meetings.
No calendar connected
With no synced calendar, the Calendar shows a card with Google and Outlook options in place of your events. Dismiss it from its ⋯ menu and it collapses to a Connect Calendar button so you can still sync later. See Calendar sync.
