Create and capture from one button in meetings

  • NewOne button to create and capture in meetings. During a meeting the toolbar now has a single "+" to create or run anything, plus a search to find and pin items. Open it to turn the live discussion into a typed item, choosing the last minute, last two or ten minutes, or the whole meeting. From the same place you can create a doc, canvas, or task for everyone or just yourself, run a summary or item extraction, or run one of your own skills.
  • NewActivity is now a primary view. Activity moves up into the main sidebar, right under "Today", with a blue badge showing your unread count. Opening it gives you a two-column dashboard: your notifications on the left and a time-grouped list of recently updated items on the right. "Mark all read" sits in the notifications header, and a "+" in the toolbar lets you create from here.
  • NewDiagrams with Mermaid. You can now add Mermaid diagrams to any document. Type "/mermaid" or set a code block's language to Mermaid, then switch between a live "Preview" and the "Source". Click a diagram to open it in a pan-and-zoom view. When the AI writes a diagram, it self-corrects unsupported syntax on its own.
  • NewArchive a type. You can now archive a type from its panel's "..." menu. The type and its items drop out of every menu, picker, list, and search result right away, while existing items keep the type and show a muted "(archived)" label. Unarchive at any time to bring it back.
  • NewA cover illustration on meeting summaries. The meeting summary now opens with a wide pen-and-watercolour illustration, its scene drawn from what the meeting was about.
  • NewAgents know what time it is, wherever you are. AI agents are now timezone-aware. In chat, "today" and "yesterday" match your own calendar day, even across midnight or time zones. Scheduled routines get an explicit time zone, so a daily brief set to 09:00 in Oslo always lands on the right Oslo day.
  • NewA guided welcome session for new team members. New workspaces now open with a guided welcome session: an agent tuned to your industry walks you through Tana in a live meeting and sets up spaces, types with filled-in examples, and a custom agent for your work. A follow-on step lists upcoming meetings from your calendar and invites you to pick one to try Tana in, switching its join link to a Tana call.
  • ImprovedRicher mentions in the editor. Inline mentions now carry a symbol that matches what they point to: a task's state, a person's avatar, an image thumbnail, or the item's type. Long titles truncate so the mention stays a tidy pill. Move between mentions with the arrow keys and open one in a peek panel, or modifier-click to open it in a new tab, window, or split.
  • ImprovedPasting a Tana link drops in a mention. Paste a link to another item in Tana and it becomes an inline mention right where your cursor is. Links to images and videos still embed so the media shows inline.
  • ImprovedTask state at a glance, everywhere. Task and workflow state now shows as one consistent icon wherever a task appears. It reflects the current state, and inside a custom workflow it fills like a pie as the task moves along your states. Click to change it, right-click for more, and it animates as it changes.
  • ImprovedReassign straight from the board. Kanban cards now show the assignee's avatar on the trailing edge, with a dashed placeholder when no one is assigned. Click it to open a searchable people picker, type a name, and reassign without opening the card. The same picker backs the assignee chip in a task's detail view, so assigning works the same everywhere.
  • ImprovedMeetings stay about the doc you pinned. When you pin a document to a meeting, the post-meeting wrap-up treats it as the strongest signal of what the meeting is about, and prefers updating that document over creating a new one.
  • ImprovedYour voice agent picks up where you left off. Stopping the voice session, leaving, or reloading keeps the same voice agent. In the welcome session the agent even replays your earlier conversation, so it continues rather than starting over.
  • ImprovedCalendar and integration sign-in opens in your browser. On the desktop app, connecting a calendar or an integration like GitHub now opens the sign-in page in your default browser, so passkeys and password managers work. Tana finishes up once the connection is active.
  • ImprovedMeeting tiles show task state and doc type. Items shown on a meeting now carry helpful affordances: a task tile shows its state up front so you can complete it without opening it, and a plain document shows its kind, such as Canvas or Doc.
  • ImprovedEverything lives in the Library. The top-level Browse is now called Library. Anything that does not live in a space or on a meeting lives in your Library, and its location shows a book icon and a "Library" label you can click to jump straight there.
  • ImprovedMeeting-focused Library. Narrow the Library or Search to just meetings and you get a dedicated table sorted by most recent, with sub-filters for a time window (upcoming, today, or past) and attendees.
  • ImprovedProposals from connected agents open with context. When an agent connected through MCP sends you proposals, the chat now opens with a short recap of what it did and why, so you have the context to keep going instead of a bare set of proposal tiles.
  • FixedTidier video grid in calls. The video grid in a call now sizes tiles to keep them as large and square as possible and fills every slot, so four people get a clean two-by-two and wider stages no longer leave empty gaps next to the "+N more" tile.
  • FixedDragging a block into a list keeps its formatting. Dragging a paragraph, heading, or code block into a list now keeps its formatting and stays the same item, rather than flattening to plain text. Moves across a document are also safer: one that cannot complete leaves your content where it was.
  • FixedLosing access to a doc shows the right state. If you lose access to a document you had open offline, your local copy is now cleared on your next interaction and you see the "Access denied" state, rather than an editable-looking copy whose edits quietly go nowhere.
  • FixedRight-clicking a Today tile no longer blanks it. Right-clicking a tile on the Today feed no longer blanks the tile or its section.
  • FixedFreshly uploaded images show right away. An image you just uploaded no longer flashes an access-denied thumbnail while the rest of the app catches up.
