Capture to tomorrow: a faster way to unload your mind in Tana mobile

Tana’s mobile apps for iOS and Android are designed for fast, structured capture from anywhere, and now takes one more step in helping you stay on top of your tasks, ideas and knowledge.
Capture to tomorrow: start your mornings already prepared
Daily notes in Tana give you a clean notepad for each day. With capture to tomorrow in the mobile apps, you can now send ideas, tasks, reminders, or voice memos directly to tomorrow’s daily note with a single action.
It’s designed for the moments where you suddenly remember something important after work, but don’t have time to start navigating to add it in the right place. Capture it, close the app, and Tana will have it ready for you in the morning.
This small change has a big effect on cognitive load. Instead of juggling loose thoughts, you get them out of your head immediately and return to your evening with peace of mind. This is one of the core principles of the Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology. Tomorrow, your daily note opens with everything already laid out, so you can plan your day and avoid dropping any balls.
Supercharged mobile capture with widgets
Tana’s mobile widgets for iOS and Android let you start capturing instantly from your home screen or lock screen. Whether you prefer text, voice, or images, you can create widgets tuned to your workflows.
You can configure widgets to:
- Capture a voice memo into a specific supertag
- Add a quick written note to a project or pinned node
- Snap a photo and and add a supertag
- Capture directly into today or tomorrow’s daily note using the new option
For managers juggling many roles and responsibilities, this gives you “one-tap capture” for the workflows that matter most.
A better way to manage tomorrow’s tasks
When your tasks land directly in tomorrow’s daily note tagged with a supertag, they instantly connect into your wider system. They become:
- Searchable
- Filterable
- Linkable to people, meetings, or projects
- Ready for AI-powered summarization or follow-up
This fits perfectly with how Tana is designed to support thinking and execution:
a connected workspace where tasks sit in the right context, instead of scattered across apps.
For busy professionals, this means fewer loose threads and a smoother start to the day. Use the daily notes page to map out tasks you want to get done today, and check off things as you completed the. Tana support checkboxes and dynamic progress bars to help you keep track of progress.
Longer voice memos for real thinking
We’ve also increased the voice memo duration limit from 1 hour to 2 hours, giving you more room to capture lectures, brainstorm sessions, long-form thinking, walking meetings, and deep reflections. Voice memos remain one of the most powerful features of Tana mobile, thanks to their structured capture capabilities.
When you record a voice memo in Tana:
- You can apply supertags to categorize it.
- Fields auto-fill based on your transcript
- Customize fields to link to existing notes, people and projects
- The memo becomes structured data in your graph, not a dead-end audio file.
Combined with the new option to capture to tomorrow, this means you can record a long voice memo after a client meeting, tag it with the right supertag, and have it waiting in tomorrow’s daily note ready for action or review.
If you want to set Tomorrow as the default for captured content, open the capture tab, tap voice or write, open the destination option and then long press of the option you want to set as default:
A calmer way to end the day, and a smarter way to begin the next
Capture to tomorrow makes end-of-day capture frictionless. Instead of holding mental to-dos overnight or scattering them into multiple apps, Tana becomes a single place to unload everything confidently.
In the morning, you open Tana and everything you captured is already organized, tagged, and waiting in tomorrow’s daily note.
It’s simple, but transformative for users who rely on Tana as their second brain.
